Getting Better?

I felt much better today when I got up, still a little tired feeling but my throat was not as sore as it has been. Kathleen came downstairs after I had finished breakfast and was saying how tired she was and then proceeded to go back upstairs and went to bed again.

Shortly after she went to bed I felt the need to get something done so since I had not raked the leaves in several days I went outside and raked the front lawn, the lower and middle sections of the back yard and then realized that I was getting tired. So I surprised myself and put the rake away and went into the house and cleaned up.

It was close to 1300 and I decided to make myself something to eat; I was going to make myself a cucumber sandwich but when I was getting the things out of the refrigerator I saw the baby spinach and decided to make myself a salad instead.

So after adding the spinach, red pepper, yellow pepper, onion, mushroom and sliced up a cucumber I thought that I needed some tomatoes so I went out to the garden and picked a few cherry tomatoes, some roma and beefsteaks. I also dug up the rest of the carrot patch and brought them into the house.

I added the cherry tomatoes to my salad and then added a little oil and balsamic vinegar for a dressing. After I finished eating I cleaned up the carrots and put them into the refrigerator and then washed the dishes, pots, pans and cake pan that Kathleen made the pineapple upside down cake in.

Kathleen got up a little before 1500 and felt better; I on the other hand was getting sleepier and sleepier as the afternoon progressed. I did manage to get a little nap in but not enough to really help.

We are suppose to have our small group tonight, but I am tired enough that I do not know that I will make it and I am not sure if Kathleen is awake yet enough to go either.

It is getting close enough to dinner time that I probably need to remind Kathleen. I have a feeling that we might have the rest of the left-over chicken soup for dinner tonight. With that said I think that I will just publish this and call it a day!

I can't believe you are still getting things out of your garden in November!! I cut the last pink rose last week and brought it in to enjoy. Now all I have are mums and Montauk Daisies.

We frequently do not get a frost until after Christmas, in fact I remember a few years when I had to mow the lawn at least once a month through the whole winter.

We usually have flowers of some sort year round; right now I still have roses blooming and several other flowers. I noticed that some of the bulbs are starting to come up and the prim roses will be in bloom again in the not too distant future.

I wish that we had some Montauk Daisies, our Shasta Daisies finished blooming a couple months ago.
