Beautiful Indian Summer Day

Well it is not really an Indian Summer day because we have not had a frost yet but it sure was a great day to be out and about.

I slept over an hour and a half longer than I usually do this morning and so the sun was actually out when I got up. Kathleen came down stairs before I had a chance to have my breakfast so it was something different eating breakfast at the same time.

Kathleen had said that she wanted to take a load of stuff to Goodwill today so after breakfast I loaded up the SUV and then waited for Kathleen to get ready. After an hour I decided that I would go outside and rake the front lawn.

About half way through raking the front lawn Kathleen came out front and said that she was ready. So I finished the front lawn and then put my tools away and came back into the house. It took about five minutes to unload the whole SUV load off at Goodwill and then we were off to the place where we bought our flooring upstairs and looked at their tile both for the floor and for the vanity top in the downstairs bathroom.

After getting a few ideas we came back home and I made myself something to eat. After eating I felt really tired so I went upstairs and went to bed and did not get up until about 1730.

Kathleen made a couple baked potatoes and finished the rest of the salmon for dinner tonight. She also cut up a few tomatoes to complete the meal.

Well, I am still pretty tired so I think that I will close this and call it a day.

I hope you are able to catch up on your rest. Do you feel better today? Is your hand looking better?

Bill is away on his annual trip with "the guys." It is really amazing. They have gotten together every year since high school.

So this will be the girls' weekend. Hopefully, we will be able to get Mom out to see a movie or something. Even just dinner would be fun.

Enjoy this gorgeous weather!

Well, I am getting a lot of sleep but I do not really feel rested. My hand is not quite as swollen although it is still harder to put on my right rubber glove than the left one. It is also not as blue and the smaller scratches have gotten even smaller; the puncture wounds especially on my index finger are still pretty sore.

Were you able to get Mom out to her doctor's appointment yesterday?

Enjoy your "girls' weekend"!

Yes, once she got dressed everything went smoothly. She just resists being told what to do and when to do it.

She is the mother, so in her mind, I guess she thinks I should not be telling her what to do. She acts quite resentful when I do it. But as her caretaker, I have to get her ready for appointments. She cannot get herself there!

It is really the only "rough spot" we have. That is why I dread her appointments so much.

Are you going to Andy's wedding?

I am glad to hear that Mom made it to her appointment okay, I know it must be hard to get her to do something that she is not thrilled to do. It is not like she is a little child where you can just pick them up, get them dressed and load them into the car.

We are planning on going to the wedding, so I have not really done much so that I do not wear myself out too much to be able to go.

Is Mom excited about the "girls weekend" or is she not aware of it?

Yes, she had a good time yesterday. She knew we were going out to Olive Garden, and kept talking about it. We had a good time. I am not sure what we will do today. It is a beautiful day again!

Did you make it to the wedding?

Yes we did make the wedding but by the time we got home I was really spent. I went upstairs and took a nap for a couple hours. When I did get up I had some chili and then pretty much vegetated the rest of the evening.
