Feeling Better Saturday

I felt pretty good this morning as I got up and so after doing the breakfast dishes I went outside and decided to sit out in the sun shine and soak up some vitamin -D-. I had kind of though about mowing the back yard but it was still pretty wet when I thought about it.

After sitting for a while I decided that I would weed along the east side of the house so I did. When I finished that the sun was going behind some clouds and it looked like it might rain. So I went inside and made myself a sandwich with some cold cuts and provolone and white American cheeses. I also had some sweet German potato salad and some pea and ham salad with a dill pickle to go along with it.

Then I sat down in my chair for a while and fell asleep. I must have slept quit a while and I felt pretty good when I got up so I went outside and weeded trimmed the grass along the whole east side of the front lawn. Kathleen came out with a banana strawberry milk shake which tasted really good. Our neighbor came over and talked with Kathleen for a while, while I finished weeding and trimming.

By the time I finished and went into the house to clean up it was after 1900 and I was really tired. I did get quite a lot of mucus out and after I did I felt much better. While I was outside I could hardly talk but as soon as I got the mucus out I could almost talk normally.

Kathleen reheated the scalped potatoes from last night and there is still a little bit left. I could have had more, but I felt full so I decided that the best thing to do would be to leave it for another day.

Just catching up on your blog. Glad you are starting to feel better. Zander was sure excited to have you guys at his game on Monday...sorry if all the grass made you feel worse. My allergies haven't been a problem yet this year, but I remember them being pretty bad in June when the big tree in the back starts dropping stuff...oh well!

I am not sure if if was the grass that made it worse or not; I do know that even mowing my own lawn bothers me now and it never use to.

It was fun watching Zander at his T-ball game, I never played organized ball that young; we just had neighborhood games with about six or seven kids per side. I do not think Aaron played ball at that age either so it was kind of a learning experience for me.

The ash tree in the back has already dropped its pollen pods and that also bothers me now.

T-ball is fun cause everyone gets a chance to hit and run all the bases. Most of the kids, Zander included don't know how to play when they sign up, so it's pretty entertaining when they hit the ball and just stand there not really knowing what to do next...or when they are out in the field just picking grass. I really never intended to sign him up, but they needed a player and Zander thought it sounded fun. I think his favorite part is wearing the uniform and getting snacks after the game!

At that age I would not expect too many of the kids to know how to play ball, but it was interesting to see the "attention span" of the kids, whether it was out on the field or running bases.

Snack are a good thing and the girls always like a guy in uniform!
