Wow What Wacky Weekend Weather

Just when one thought that the weather could not get any wackier it does. This weekend was suppose to be cold, cloudy and stormy...well it was...kind of. Saturday was probably the sunniest day of the week, it was suppose to be really stormy so when I saw the sun out I decided that I would re-mow the lawn because when I mowed it the other day it was so wet that it kind of clumped together.

So Saturday when I mowed it was not that much longer and it was really pretty dry for this time of year so it really mowed nicely. This is the second week in a row that I have mowed my lawn a couple days apart; that is not too strange except when one realizes that most of my neighbors do not even mow their lawns once a week.

Alyssa said that they had snow on the ground at their place; they even had some snow down on the river as they were finishing their lunch river cruise. The weather folks had said that the snow was suppose to be above 1000 feet so having it all the way down to the river was quite a drop in elevation.

Then this morning I talked to Aaron as I was leaving church and he was going there and he said that he had not gotten a lot of flying in this last week because of the weather and the gusty winds.

Today was cool as well, and this morning was not too bad a day, but this afternoon it really took a change for the worse. It rained, snowed and hailed and even was a bit windy. As we were driving to Andrea and John's this afternoon it was kind of a thick rain/hail sort of precipitation and while we were at their house it hailed pretty good and covered their deck and table.

Then on the way home we noticed that there was snow or hail on the ground by Oregon Trails shopping center, so it must have really done something there. By the time we got home it was pretty dry, in fact under the fir trees it was bone dry.

Well, that was our wacky weather this weekend; I almost cannot wait for next weekend to see what the weather is going to bring. Of course we will be at the beach so I am hoping that there will be some sunshine.

WOW!! That is hard to imagine! It was 87 here on Saturday!

I'm glad you are going to the beach. But I hope it warms up first!!!

It was fun having you both over last night. I hope John cooked your steak the way you liked. It looked bloody enough to me. I just can't wait for the weather to stay warm. This morning as I was taking off Brandon's diaper at about 7:30 it was snowing but by the time he was done with his bath it had stopped. Too strange. Is it just the area I live now or is this "winter" been the weirdest we have had in a long time? I can't remember the last year that the seasons were so mixed up!!!

We enjoyed seeing you all and sharing your cow with us. My steak could have been a little less well done, but it tasted great just the same. It was very tender and juicy so that is all I really care about.

It is funny as we had very little rain, snow or hail at our house yesterday, I checked my rain bucket and it was almost empty.

This morning as I was driving to the credit union I ran into some drizzle but there was nothing at our house.

I do think that I can remember a winter where the weather was quite as fickled as it has been this year. The weather is not that unusual for earlier in the year...not April.
