I did manage to work out in the yard for a while; pulling weeds and doing some pruning. I also managed to mow the lawn later in the day after the dew finally dried off the grass. I had been taking my Tylenol every four hours so my hip was not bothering me as much as it had been when I would only take it after it was really hurting me.
This morning when I woke up my throat was still sore and my hip felt okay as well; I did take my Tylenol when I first got up. My voice has been almost none existent as I have been coughing much of the day trying to get the phlegm loosened up.
I was going to call Mom and Sue today but I could hardly talk to Kathleen in the same room so I knew that I would not be able to have a good conversation over the phone. Aside from not having any volume it also hurt to talk, so I have tried to stay quiet today; not that I usually say a lot anyway.
We were suppose to have Easter dinner with the children and grandchildren today, but since neither Kathleen or I felt very good we called Alyssa and let her know that we would not be making it. Andrea and Brandon were also sick, so they were not going to go either.
We bought a nice spiral cut ham and were looking forward to having a nice dinner with everyone, but that is something that has become harder and harder to do as everyone is getting older and with more young ones it seems like someone is always sick or working.
So needless to say this has been a really quiet Easter; since we did not go to church either it was just the two of us rattling around here today. Kathleen did not make it downstairs until around 1430 and around 1500 I went upstairs to take a nap.
About all I got accomplished today was to wash and put away a load of dishes and make myself a couple meals. I have to eat dinner early tonight as I have a twelve hour fast for some more blood work tomorrow morning.

Happy Easter!
This has definitely been a different Easter for us. Both Kathleen and I had colds/allergies and neither one of us felt very well all weekend. I woke up yesterday and my throat was really sore and I had a lot of congestion, then when Kathleen got up she felt kind of the same way.

We all missed you guys and hope you are feeling better. I sent some ham for you with Toni and Chucky, along with some Milkyway chocolate Easter eggs (my favorite Easter treat!)
I had what it sounds like you have a couple weekends ago while we were in Seaside. I think the worst of it only lasted 2-3 days, then add in a few more days to just feel run down and then I was back to normal. Hope your blood work goes well. I added you to the prayer requests at church today.
Hope you are feeling better. You are in our prayers. I hope your tests have good results. I don't know if you saw the comments I posted to your last entry about the arthritis or not.
Timmy and Jill surprised us by coming for the weekend. All of the kids knew about it, but kept the secret. They are still here until tomorrow morning.
Love to all,
Sue
Alyssa, I aways enjoy our family gatherings and feel bad when someone has to miss especially when that someone is me, but I think it was better for me not to take a chance on exposing anyone else or being exposed to something else when my immune system is compromised already.
I hope you sent along the ham bone, I alway enjoy making soup with it. The last time we did it I had soup for four or five meals.
I feel pretty run down normally now so I am not sure what to expect after being sick.
I do feel a bit better today, I was up early so that I could get to the doctor's office to have my blood drawn.
It took them three attempts, but they finally found some blood. I look like I was in an accident with all the bandages. Luckily I only needed to leave them on until I got home.
Sue I did read your last comment about a physical therapist, but for right now I have enough things to do that I do not need another thing on my plate. If the pain gets any worse I might have to but right now I am able to survive maxing out on Tylenol.
Sue, tell everyone hi from us out here.
The doctor's have trouble drawing my blood too. They can usually get it out of my hand, but of course, they always try the inner elbow first...to no avail.
Have you heard back any test results or is it too soon?
I still have the ham bone and can save it for you to make soup. I'll post some family Easter pictures on my blog tonight unless I fall asleep first. (I've been so tired lately that I've been crashing out on the couch while watching tv and eventually crawl up to bed)
Thanks! I have that walking stick that I whittled for Zander that I need to get to him. I kind of got lost in our remodel.
I have not heard back on the blood work yet; maybe no news is good news.
