New Brace

Woke up earlier this morning and did not go back to sleep so I finally got up about 0600. Kathleen had a physical therapy appointment today so I did not want to get started on any projects this morning.

I went outside with Reggie this morning, mostly to check out the chairs and the bench that I oiled, the bench was all beaded up as it had rained a little last night. I must not have rained very much as the cultivating that I did was not very wet.

Kathleen was downstairs before I finished reading my e-mail this morning and asked if I would like some pancakes this morning, so she cooked up some.

We have not had pancakes for a while and they really tasted good. I think it may have had something to do with the weather turning a little cooler. After I put the dishes in the dishwasher, I sat down, read the paper, and had a cup of coffee.

For some reason today I received lots of mail, much of it was the usual junk, but I also got three magazines and a couple catalogues that I had ordered. That took me up to lunchtime. I made myself a Boca burger and toasted a couple of bread heels and some provolone cheese.

Kathleen also put together a meatloaf and put it in the oven to bake while we were at physical therapy. After we were there for a while the person with the brace showed up and put it on Kathleen. It does not look like it has any metal that would give her a rash and it is not too heavy, so I hope it works for her.

After the appointment we stopped by the credit union and deposited some checks and to change some monthly transfers. Then we headed for Rossi Farms to pick up some fresh produce.

I scrubbed a couple potatoes and put them in the oven. Kathleen cooked some of the green beans and broccoli that we got at Rossi Farms, and by 1730 we were having dinner.

I got really tired after dinner and dozed of while reading a magazine, so now that I am somewhat awake I though that I better do this before I fall asleep again. I think that I covered our day and I think that I will just say good night.

Well, it's not TOOOO heavy but it is definably not light. So far it is very awkward, partially since it wasn't fit to me quite right. It is much better since we moved it around so the hinge lets me bend my arm.

I've tried adjusting it a bit. I'm hoping it will be more bearable soon. I've had it on for two separate hours so far and every minute was at least uncomfortable.

What keeps it on is the fact that my arm will not straighten out and discomfort now is better than permanent discomfort. It is padded with memory foam which might be all right. I am looking for something that can pad it a bit more on the upper bicept area. I think the thing looks like it belongs on a robot.

It turns out that we are renting it for the price of our $15 co-pay per month. That is much better than the previously estimated $300 for our part in purchasing it. I doubt it will take long. I want to get this over with.

Good for you mom. I know you are probably sick and tired of being one-handed. So, do ya look like a storm trooper from Starwars? I guess I will see it tomorrow when you are over for dinner. BTW, we had meatloaf tonight too. I made ours out of ground chicken. It was quite good. At least Hayden and I thought so..Natalie and Zander left quite a bit on their plates. Oh well. I guess I will have to ship what they didn't eat to all those poor starving kids in China.
