Anyway, I toasted some bread and put some honey, peanut butter and a banana on top. Then loaded up the dishwasher and washed the pots and pans from last night. Then I went and read the paper. Since it was not raining this morning I decided to go outside and get a little fresh air. While I was out there I noticed several slugs, so I started collecting them in a plastic bag. While I was at it I also picked some weeds that were growing in the lawn.
When I got inside it was time for lunch, so I heated up some of the stuffing from last night and cooked soy patty. After lunch I gathered up the dishes and started up the dishwasher then I went into the living room to watch the Ohio State/Wisconsin game.
When the game was over I went upstairs and gathered up the laundry and put it into the two baskets and asked Kathleen to put her clothes in. The dishes had finished a while ago, so I emptied the dishwasher.
After reading for a while, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 1800, so since Kathleen had not come down to do dinner, I heated up some more stuffing a turkey patty and opened up a can of beets. Kathleen finally came down about 1845 after I had finished eating.
Well, tomorrow is the day for Andrea to have her baby; I think I probably will skip my radiation appointment. I am hoping that can get a good night sleep tonight. Well, that is all that I can think of for tonight, so I will just say good night.

Sleepy Sunday

Spring ahead Saturday
For breakfast, I fried the rest of the mashed potatoes from the other night and then put the leftover beef tips and gravy on top and micro waved it. While that was cooking I fried a couple eggs and that was breakfast.
Not much in the paper this morning, and other then a golf digest magazine there was not much in the mail for me. Kathleen got more today than I did and Toni and Andrea got a couple things as well, so after finishing the magazine, I went out side.
Because it has rained during the night, there were a number of slugs in the lawn, so I gathered up as many as I could find along with several slug egg cases. That took a little while and then when I finished that I went into the garage and moved the router table that Aaron brought back yesterday.
When I got back inside I watched the Ohio State/Purdue basketball game and tried to stay awake. After it was over I had some leftover cream of chicken soup that Kathleen had made the other day and not finished and also a couple peanut butter and real fruit sandwiches for lunch.
Retiring to the living room once again and settling into my chair I read one of the books I have had on my read list for a while. I finished a couple hundred pages and am about three quarters through it.
When I got to the point of not being able to keep my eyes open any longer, I decided to lie down on the couch for a while. I dozed for a while, but was still tired, so about 1800 I asked Kathleen what she was planning for dinner. She made some turkey patties, some stuffing and a couple asparagus spires. No too bad, but I can not wait until I can start have some spicy foods and even eat more than a couple vegetables a day.
Well, like I said, it is going to be an early night, so good night!

A very Fine Friday
Andrea came over after her doctor's appointment this morning as well. Unfortunately I had to leave for my radiation appointment so everyone left and Kathleen and I took off at the same time as everyone else left.
My treatment went fine; one of the interns who has been there during my treatments was there for her last day. Next week she has her finals and then off for a break. She thinks that she will go to
After my appointment, Kathleen and I sat around and talked to the other two couples until 1400, and then we all took off. Both the other couples finish up of Friday, so for my last couple appointments, there will not be there for Kathleen to chat with while I am getting my radiation.
This afternoon when I got home I made myself a Boca burger and put it on a couple heals of dark rye bread. I think that I would just as soon have a Boca burger than a regular hamburger. I usually keep a pack in the freezer for lunches when we do not have any leftovers in the refrigerator for a quick meal.
Alyssa called this afternoon, I had been calling her for a couple days and have not been able to get through, and so it was good to talk to her. She said that she was going to have pizza for dinner tonight, and that sounded pretty good to Kathleen and me.
Kathleen left to get the pizza shortly after we finished talking to Alyssa. She was only gone a short time and then put it into the convection oven and before I knew it, it was done. I like the "delight" variety of pizzas from Papa Murphy's, they are lower in fat and calories and the taste is not bad either.
Well, that is all that I can think about for today. Just two more radiation appointments to go. I will probably miss Monday's, because of the arrival of Andrea and John's peanut, so Tuesday and Wednesday will be my last...I hope.
Of course I still might be able to go to my radiation treatment on Monday, depending on what happens with Andrea. I let the folks know that I probably would not be there, and if I did I could just wait until they could fit me in.
Well, good night!

Another Thankful Thursday
My first reaction was, "boy they are really making this look real, I wonder how they got it to smoke like that" Then the fire trucks arrived, as they were only about a half a mile away.
I went to look for Sue, my little sister; little did I realize that she was on the second floor of the building that was actually on fire. Luckily she was able to jump to safety.
I remember walking to church, where Mom was working and than that night all the relatives from
Well, that was then, this is now! I got a pretty good night sleep and feel almost awake. Last night I spent some time putting new line, (backing, fly line and leader) on my fly reels, and that took most of the evening.
Between not being able to concentrate very much and my arthritis, not being able to move my fingers the way I wanted to, it just took forever to accomplish. But at least I got it done and it keeps both my mind and my fingers busy.
Now for today! Today when I woke up the sun was shining and it looked like it might be a nice day, nice at least for
I did not do much other than empty the dishwasher an put the dishes in from last night and breakfast. Before I realized it, it was
There are two other couples that are usually in the waiting room after I have my radiation and Kathleen and I have developed somewhat of a relationship with. One of the couples the wife is having treatment and the other the husband. Anyway we usually sit and talk until everyone has finished their treatments and then sometimes keep talking, sometimes for half an hour or so.
After my appointment Kathleen wanted to stop at
There is one that I have been looking at for a couple years, in fact the salesman almost know me by name. Anyway, the one that I have talked to the most made me an offer on the vacuum that I had been wanting, that I could not refuse. I got an employee discount and he threw in a couple boxes of bags. Besides the vacuum, I also bought the attachment kit; I got everything for about fifty dollars less than the normal cost of just the vacuum alone.
So when we got home I made myself something to eat, I put some cottage cheese in a bowl and then added a half of a can of beets on top of it. It was interesting to look at, but it tasted okay.
After eating I had to try out the new vacuum, I think that I will like it. It weighs about the same as our old one, but it is much quieter and it has a 35 foot electric cord, so that I do not have to change plugs when I am vacuuming.
The attachment kit that I bought has a long hose so that I can do the stairs with the vacuum still on the main floor. With the old one I had to unplug and move the vacuum upstairs and finish the top stairs that way.
Well, all that vacuuming wore me out and I fell asleep for a while, while Kathleen was out running an errand.
Tonight for dinner Kathleen made some beef tips mashed potatoes, gravy and asparagus. Kathleen thought that I had eaten quite a lot, but I did not think go. Oh well, it tasted good.
Well, for some reason I seem to be more tired that usual, so I think that I will just say good night.

Wet again Wednesday
This morning I heated up the mashed potatoes from a couple nights ago, in the pan that Kathleen made the spaghetti sauce in last night, so that it gave the mashed potatoes a sort of Italian flavor.
Then I added a couple spoons of Cheese Wiz and sprinkled on some Italian seasoning and heated it up a little more in the micro wave to melt the Cheese Wiz into the potatoes a little.
I also fried up a couple of Morningstar sausages to go along with the Italian fried mashed potatoes. Have I made you ill yet? Actually it tasted pretty good. I am sure that Alyssa will want to include this recipe in her Fabulous Food Friday one of these days.
It is a recipe made out of desperation, I am trying to find foods that I can eat without making my intestines rebel and that still something that is somewhat healthy and does not taste too bad either. The tasting part is probably the least important to me at this point; I just need things that will not cause my intestines/bowels to behave more normally.
Anyway after eating and putting my dishes into the dishwasher, I went into the living room to read the paper and then the mail. Then I decided to take the kitchen recycling out to the compostor as it had stopped raining for a while. While I was out there I noticed that some of the moss was looking a little worse than it had, so maybe I was somewhat successful in hindering that growth of the moss.
Well, it was now time for me to get ready for my radiation appointment; Kathleen had just gotten back from her doctor visit, so I suggested that she should stay home and relax a little. So I took my Wrangler so that she could drive herself to the memorial service for one of our friends who died last week of cancer; he had a brain tumor.
I wore dress pants and a button down shirt, so that I would not have to rush home to change, but go right to the church after my appointment. The radiation therapist was not sure what to think, as even on the coldest days I was always in my shorts.
I got to the church about a half hour before the service started, so I visited a little. I sat out in the vestibule so that if I needed I could make a quick exit. The church filled up and people were starting to stand in the vestibule, so I gave my seat up to a couple of elderly ladies and stood.
Well, since I am not in great shape any longer, about half way through the service, I started to get really tired and my legs were getting sore, so I left and headed home. I probably have felt as good today as I have in a couple months, but I have been really tired and fell asleep a couple of times in my chair.
Finally when I woke up a little I decided to vacuum the downstairs and then loaded up the dishwasher and turned it on. Then I washed the hand wash and dried the pots and pans.
Kathleen is sitting with Aaron and Tami's girls tonight, so I heated up the rest of the spaghetti from last night for my dinner.
Well, that is about all for tonight, there is not much to write about as I have been sitting and dozing most of the day. I am hoping that I will be a little more wide awake tomorrow, well, good night.

Teriffic Tuesday
This morning after reading the paper and mail I went outside and pulled weeds and trimmed the blueberries and hydrangea. Then we left for my radiation appointment, just six more to go...I think!
After my appointment we stopped by Bi-Mart, to check our lucky numbers and I also wanted to get some stuff to put on the lawn and roof to get rid of the moss. So when we got home, I changed my clothes and went outside and got the spreader out and did the front and back lawns. Then I put the spray stuff into the hose and wet the lawn down. I figure that giving it a double dose would not hurt and maybe it would kill the moss.
By the time I got done I was not only tired, but it was about 1600 and too late for lunch. So I made myself a protein whey shake. Then I sat down in my chair and tried to stay awake.
Kathleen ground up the hamburgers from last night and made some spaghetti for dinner. I probably ate more than I should have, but I figured that I missed lunch. I have been loosing weight since I have been on the radiation treatments, but I could stand to loose some.
Well, I can not think of anything else to write home about, so I will say good night!

Marvelous Monday
Then I unloaded the dishwasher and put the dishes that had gathered in the sink into it. The washer went off so I loaded the clothes into the dryer and turned it on and then when Kathleen came downstairs we took off for my appointment, later than we normally do, but I got there just in time for my appointment.
After we got home and I changed my clothes again, I took the laundry upstairs and folded and put it away. Then I went back downstairs and put a couple of the throw rugs from the kitchen into the washer. While they were being washed, I mopped the kitchen and the mud room floors, and by the time I finished the rugs were ready for the dryer.
While the rugs were in the dryer, I made myself some lunch, I heated up the leftover blueberry pancakes from yesterday’s lunch and micro waved a couple sausages. After finishing lunch I loaded the dishwasher with the lunch dishes and then took the rugs out of the dryer and put them back down where they belonged.
I have been meaning to clean out my beta's vase for a week or so, so I went ahead and did that as well. The water at the bottom was getting pretty green, some of that was from the vegetation in the vase, but some was from just needing cleaning.
Kathleen made some hamburgers and mashed potatoes for dinner and after dinner I soaked the pots and loaded the dishes into the dishwasher. Kathleen had a meeting at 1900 so she took off for that, so I vacuumed the downstairs carpets and now I am blogging.
I think that is about it for tonight, so good night!

Sunday Sunshine
Once up and dressed, I made myself some toast and emptied the dishwasher that I did not get to do last night. Then I sat down and enjoyed my English muffin bread toast with peanut butter and Smacker’s all fruit. Then I loaded the dishwasher up with the dishes from last night's dinner and my plate from this morning.
After reading the paper, I decided to take the garbage out; while I was outside I thought that I would enjoy some fresh air, so I stayed out for a while. I moved the fence around the large rose bed in the back of the house because it would make it easier when I mow.
Then I dug out a couple blackberry bushes that had started to spring up under my Japanese maple. While I was walking around the yard, I noticed that the lawn was starting to grow more in some spots than in others, so I thought that I would get the old lawnmower out and even everything up.
When I finished the mowing, I could feel that I was really tired, as you can tell, I am not in the best of shape, mostly from inactivity, but I also have lost a lot of my stomach muscles from my surgery.
Once inside and cleaned up, I sat down in my chair; Kathleen asked if I would like some pancakes for lunch. I sounded okay to me, and since I did not have a lot of energy at this point it was a good idea as far as I was concerned.
After eating I went back to my chair, but after twenty minutes or so I decided that I would be better off going to bed and actually going to sleep. So even though I am not much of a formal nap person, I went to bed and slept from about 1500 until about 1700.
Once up I decided that the clothes that I had worn outside probably should be washed, so I got some clean shorts and tee shirt out and sorted the clothes for the washing machine. I left it upstairs and told Kathleen to add her cloths to the bags.
Kathleen finally came downstairs dressed, so I went upstairs and brought the laundry downstairs. Kathleen made some tomato soup and melted cheese sandwiches for dinner, so after eating I put the dishes into the dishwasher and started it up. Then I loaded the dark clothes into the washer and that is where they are now.
Well, the washer just went off, so I think that I will say good night and transfer the clothes to the dryer. I am hoping that I can get a little more sleep tonight than I did last night.

Some Sunshine on Saturday
This morning after reading the paper and the mail, I went into my office and tried to find the files from this years taxes that I had started before my computer hard drive started acting up. I finally found most of it, and only had to re-input a little bit of what I had done before.
Now I just need to review it and e-file. I did not feel like doing it today as I am not sure that I am alert enough to really do a good job of it.
Well, that pretty much took care of my afternoon. I did go outside for a while and dug in the dirt, but it was still pretty wet. For lunch I reheated the chicken, rice asparagus and carrots from the other night.
I loaded up the dishwasher and turned it on, it was not quite full, but full enough that it needed to be run. It has finished, but I do not have the energy to unload it tonight. It will give me something to do tomorrow morning.
For dinner tonight Kathleen was at a loss for what to fix, so I suggested corn beef hash and tater tots. Not what I would consider a very nutritious meal, but bland enough as to not bother my intestines.
Well, again, not a very productive day, but I did get the taxes pretty much finished. I guess it is time to say good night.

Festive Friday
Andrea came over this morning after her doctor's visit and left when we left for my radiation treatment. I only have about seven more to go, so I am hoping that in less than a month I will start to feel more "normal".
We stopped by the library so that I could drop off a couple books; Kathleen was too tired so we did not stay to look around. For me that is a good thing, because usually around 1500 is when I start not to feeling too well.
Today was a little different, I am still feeling pretty good, relatively speaking, and I have not had to make as many trips to the bathroom as I have been...I hope that this is a good sign.
I heated up some leftover macaroni and Velveeta for my lunch and then had a couple pizza sandwiches. It does not sound like something that most people would choose, but for me it has the tomato, processed cheese, which I can have, and English muffin bread all which seem to not upset my bowels too much.
This afternoon I spent most of the time reading a book and updating my "want" shopping list of books I want to read in the future. I also did a little research on the internet on a couple items I am interested in.
Then tonight Kathleen made some creamed chipped beef on toast for dinner. Here again it is a meal that I can eat without too many repercussions. Kathleen has gone upstairs to take a shower and get the goop off her from the electrodes that they stuck on her last night.
Well, I cannot think of anything else to write about, I live such a boring life! Well, good night!

Tired Thursday
It had been quite a while since I had vacuumed the upstairs, so I was not really too surprised at the amount of dirt that I picked up. After vacuuming I thought about doing the stairs, but I just did not have the energy, so I emptied the dishwasher.
Next it was off to my radiation appointment, which went well. Since we did not have any place that we had to go to or even wanted to go, we went home. It was nice getting home earlier because I had some time before I would start my afternoon bathroom pilgrimage.
I heated up the leftover salmon, pea and noodle casserole for lunch, and then toasted a couple pieces of English muffin bread and made some toast pizza, one of my staples.
Starting my treks to the bathroom an hour late was another surprise, because normally I had been starting my treks about 1500, but today for some reason it did not start until 1600. I am not complaining, I was just surprised when it did not start when I expected it to.
This afternoon, I finished another of the books that I had checked out of the library, so tomorrow we will probably stop by the library to take them back. The rest of the afternoon, I spent dozing in my chair. I am not sure why, but I have been extremely tired this afternoon.
Tonight for dinner, Kathleen made some chicken, carrots and asparagus stir fried along with some rice. It tasted really good, but then I really like fresh asparagus and baby carrots. Because I can only have a coupe of servings of vegetables each day, so it is nice to have something that I really like.
Well, tonight Kathleen goes across town to do her sleep apnea study, with her gone tonight and as tired as I feel, I think that it will be a really early night, so I will say good night for now and talk to you again tomorrow.

What a Wednesday
The rest of the morning was pretty normal the radiation treatment went well and we even stopped off at Bi-Mart, the post office and got gas for Kathleen's SUV. We got home just a little before 1500 and it was none too soon as I just had enough time to change clothes and then made my way to the bathroom.
This afternoon I had half of the leftover macaroni, salmon and pea casserole from the other night. Then the rest of this afternoon I pretty much just sat around and read a couple magazines and dozed.
For dinner tonight Kathleen made one of her famous "yellow" meals, macaroni and cheese with peaches for dessert. I think it was good; I was/am too tired to know for sure.
One of the things that I was reading today gave me some encouraging information; I thought that I would share that with you as it is not too long. So here goes:
Surgery and Radiation Seen as Best for Localized Prostate Cancer
Compared with less definitive approaches, radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy result in significantly higher survival rates in men with prostate cancer that hasn't spread beyond the gland
TUESDAY, January 23 (Reuters Health) - Both surgery (radical prostatectomy) and radiation therapy result in significantly higher survival rates in men with prostate cancer that hasn't spread beyond the gland, compared with less definitive approaches, according to the results of a large study conducted at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.
Dr. Ashutosh Tewari, of New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, and colleagues studied 3,159 men, 75 years of age or younger, with biopsy-confirmed, localized prostate cancer, treated between 1980 and 1997.
"A patient was considered to have undergone radiotherapy or prostatectomy if he received that treatment within 6 months of diagnosis; otherwise, he was assigned to 'conservative management'," the researchers explain in the medical journal Urology.
The overall survival rate at 15 years after treatment was 35 percent with conservative management, 50 percent with radiation treatment and 65 percent with radical prostatectomy, the team reports.
When deaths due specifically to prostate cancer were considered, survival rates were 79 percent, 87 percent and 92 percent with conservative management, radiation and surgery, respectively.
Looked at another way, men who had radiation treatment lived an average of 4.6 years longer with radiotherapy, and 8.6 years longer with radical prostatectomy, than those managed conservatively.
Because this was a look-back study, Tewari and colleagues caution that forward-looking clinical trials are still needed to compare the survival benefits of each of these three treatment approaches.

Have a good night!

A Tiring Tuesday
After finishing breakfast I went into the living room to read the paper and the mail, when it arrived. After the obligatory reading, I recycled the junk and the paper, and then I went onto my computer to pay a couple bills that had arrived in today’s mail.
Once that was done I decided to vacuum the downstairs carpeting, it is funny as I was doing it I realized that I vacuum more often when the weather is nasty outside. It seems like when it is nice out, I am outside doing things, but when the weather is not so nice I spend a lot more time inside and I notice the dog fur a lot more.
Well, my appointment was pretty normal, today the doctor took a look at the skin to see what kind of burning has been taking place, she said it looked pretty normal. I really have not had much of a problem with burning, just a little bit, my bowels are what have been giving me most of the problem, and that is one of the side effects I was told to expect.
After the appointment Kathleen needed to pick up a couple prescriptions for Fred Meyer, so on the way we stopped by the credit union to deposit a couple refund checks. Kathleen also had a couple prescriptions to drop off, so we had to wait about a half hour before they all would be ready.
We got home just in time for me to start my afternoon bathroom voyages, usually around 1500 they start and are pretty regular until about 1730 or so. Then I have a couple hours relief and then it starts all over again, usually until around
I had some of the leftover tofu, onion, mushroom and tomato sauce over macaroni for lunch again today. I finished it off, it was good while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end.
This afternoon, when I was not in the bathroom, I pretty much spent in my chair reading a book on what to expect after cancer treatments are over. It was a pretty short read, only about a hundred and twenty-five pages or so.
Tonight for dinner Kathleen made some salmon, cream of chicken soup and peas over pasta, Kathleen did not care for it too much, as the salmon was packaged and not fresh, but I like salmon even when it is not fresh. I do prefer fresh, but I like to eat salmon whenever I can.
There was enough leftover so that I will be able to have it for lunch some day. Well, I think that is about it for tonight, I am tired, so have a good night.

A Mixed Monday
After my shower this morning I loaded up the washer with the light clothes and turned it on. It finished just before we left for my appointment so I loaded the clothes into the dryer and turned it on. After my appointment we stopped at Winco to do our grocery shopping, something we had not gotten done in a couple weeks.
By the time we got home I started my usual after appointment not feeling well, but I unloaded the groceries out of the car and then helped Kathleen put away the groceries. Then I heated up some of the left over macaroni and sauce from last night, I saved enough so that I can have the rest of it tomorrow. Then I made a couple English muffin toast pizza.
After eating I went into the living room to read a magazine that I got today and tried to stay awake. I caught myself dozing on a couple occasions, but never really got to sleep. After a while I realized that I still had not taken the clothes out of the dryer, so I did that. I then took them upstairs to fold and put away.
Kathleen made some onion, mushroom, and salmon in a cream sauce for dinner tonight. She also baked a couple potatoes, I used the sauce over my potatoes, and Kathleen just put butter on hers. Mushrooms and onions are not some of her favorite things. She also cut up an avocado on the side.
Well, I think that pretty much sums up my day, nothing very exciting, but that is how my life is nowadays. Well, good night!

Swampy Sunday
Anyway, about today, I had my usual Sunday toast for breakfast, but like most Sundays for the last month or so, I did not go to church. Even though I am feeling much better, the amount of time that I need to spend in the bathroom makes it difficult to really go anywhere.
Anyway, since I slept in, I did not eat breakfast until about 0930. After breakfast I loaded up the washer and did a load of towels. While they were washing I read the paper and then vacuumed the downstairs carpeting.
By this time the wash was done, so I loaded it into the dryer and unloaded the dishwasher and put the dishes away. When the towels were dry, I took them out and folded them and put them away.
For lunch I made some toasted bread pizza and had the leftover cake from Andrea's shower. Kathleen came downstairs and made some scones for herself and started to make a tofu, tomato, onion and mushroom sauce for me. She does not like tofu, but I rather enjoy it, so I will eat it and she will have something else tonight.
I told her that if she got her clothes into the laundry, I would do the laundry this afternoon. So finally around 1600 I went upstairs and brought the dark clothes down, loaded them into the washer and started it up. They are in the dryer now, so I will have to stop in a bit to take them out to fold and put away.
Around 1800, I asked Kathleen about dinner and she said that I could have the sauce and leftover macaroni from last night. So I filled up a bowl with macaroni and put some of the sauce that Kathleen made this afternoon and heated it up in the micro wave. It was really good, I think that there is enough left over for lunch tomorrow.
Kathleen tried a little of the sauce and she said that the texture just did not sit with her very well, so she would not be eating any more of it. Oh well, her loss, it is one of the things that I can eat and not have problems with it later on.
Well, the dryer just went off, so I think I will close this and say good night for today.

Soggy Saturday
I made myself a couple eggs and sausages for breakfast and than washed the dishes and whipped down the counters in the kitchen. Then I went into the living room and read the mail and paper. I cannot think of what else I did other than run to the bathroom a few times, but before I knew it Andrea was here to take Kathleen to the shower that Andrea's friends from the hotel were throwing for her.
I heated up the leftover chicken and mandarin sauce from the other night and then made a couple toasted bread pizza for my lunch. It seems like I have that almost every day, but it is something that I can eat without any problems and I have not grown tired of it yet.
They left here about 1315 and did not get home until after 1800. They seemed to have a good time and Kathleen was tired when she got into the house. Kathleen heated up the leftover salmon for dinner and also cooked some macaroni for dinner tonight. For dessert we had some leftover shower chocolate cake.
Well, it has been another rather unproductive day and I cannot think of anything else to say, so I guess that I will just say, good night.

Friendly Friday
While my appointment was at 1100, I did not get into the radiation room until about 1145. They had to take new x-rays of my "target" zone, and then they started the new treatments. In doing a more narrowed down zone, they also use six positions where before there were only four.
We had thought that we would stop by the grocery store after the treatments, so after we left the hospital Kathleen stopped by fabric depot to pick up some thread. I stayed in the car and waited for her, but by the time she got back I was starting to feel not so good, so I asked if we could just go home.
After changing clothes I wound up having to sit on the toilet three times in the next half hour, so it was a good thing we did not try to do the grocery shopping after all. Kathleen heated up the left over soup from the other night and I made a couple pieces of bread pizza for my lunch.
Andrea came over for a little while this afternoon and left around 1630 to try to avoid some of the freeway traffic. I have felt pretty good since about 1500, so hopefully this will last through most of the weekend.
Tonight Kathleen cooked a couple salmon steaks, heated up the left over rice and squash for dinner tonight. I think that I could eat salmon every day of the week.
Well, I cannot think of anything else to write about tonight, so I will just say good night.

Thankful Thursday
This morning was pretty typical, I got a pretty decent night sleep, and it makes a lot of difference when one does not have to get up a half dozen times a night. I had oatmeal for breakfast, only now I am not adding raisins. I never would have thought that a few raisins would cause so many bowel problems.
I guess that for now I just have to eat an unhealthy diet. It seems like just about everything I really enjoy, I can not eat. I am limited to white bread, no or as little fiber as possible, no raw fruit, limited milk products and no spicy foods.
I have been reading and updating some of my computer files this afternoon, I went outside a couple times, but the weather has been rather unstable. On minute the sun is shining and the next it is raining.
Kathleen made some Mandarin orange chicken and rice for dinner tonight. It was pretty good and there was a little left over for a lunch or snack. Well, I can not think of anything else to write about, as my life is not all that exciting at this point. So I will just say my good nights!

A Wow of a Wednesday
When I went in for my radiation treatment today, the nurse that talked to me last week was there, she only works on Wednesdays and she asked me how I was doing. I was happy to report to her that I have felt better over the last week than I have since this whole radiation procedure started.
Kathleen and I stopped by the library after my radiation appointment today, we each had some things to drop off and we both wound up checking out a couple more books. I finished one, over 400, pages this afternoon and have started on the other one.
This afternoon has been really good as well; I have been feeling a little tired, but that kind of goes with the radiation. I have not had any problem with the cramping for going on three days and my stomach is feeling much better.
Tonight we had some of the leftover hamburger and rice soup that Kathleen made last night. It was very thick when I put it into the refrigerator containers last night so we just added some water to thin it down just a little.
Today the weather has gone from very sunny early this morning to overcast this afternoon. They are predicting rain off and on for the next few days, so this is just the precursor to the change in the weather.
I enjoyed getting outside for a little bit each day for the last couple days, but they are saying that the rain will not be all day affairs, but rather scattered showers with the possibility of some thunder and lightning a couple times.
Well, I am feeling much better, but I still am not getting much done around the house. Well, that was my day; I hope you all had a good day as well. I guess I will just say good night for now. If anything else exciting happens later tonight, I will either write an other blog tonight or write about it tomorrow.

Tempting Tuesday
Monday was much better than my typical afternoons, but today was much better than yesterday. I would like to hope that this is a new trend, but by the same token, I do not want to get my hopes up too much.
I wish that the day had been a little nicer, it would have liked to have tried to gotten some yard work done. I did go out a couple of times, but the weather was just to changeable. Maybe it was a good thing as I probably did not need to get too worn out.
Besides not needing to use the bathroom a often, I have not had the cramps that I normal have in the afternoons and evenings, so that has been another very good thing. So what this means to me right now is that I am not as tired as I have been for the last month or so.
If the next month or so goes as well as the last couple days have, I think I can handle it. The way it had been going, I was not sure if I made the correct decision as far as the radiation goes. Next to the time I ate some bad oysters, I think that this is the worst I have felt for an extended period of time.
Well, I cannot think of anything else to write about so I think that I will just say good night.
